Baghdatis sees off German qualifier
Crowd favourite, Marcos Baghdatis, was first on Centre Court on Wednesday. He was up against the German qualifier Matthias Bachinger, who made Baghdatis work hard in the first set.
The German lead all the way through the first set, but eventually Baghdatis showed his experience, grabbing the tiebreak. That was it for the German, who couldn´t keep up with Baghdatis in the second set.
At 2-5 Bachinger struggled to hold his serve, and Baghdatis took advantage of the first match point he got, to seal the match 7-6, 6-2. Baghdatis now faces the winner of Berdych and Rosol.
