Federer vs. Sijsling: no winner

Once again there was a huge crowd, when Federer made an appearance on Centre Court tonight, as a gesture to all the fans, as his original scheduled match against Youzhny was cancelled due to Youzhny´s withdrawel.

The crowd were very pleased and entertaint, as Holland´s number 3, Igor Sijsling, prooved to be a very worthy opponent. Federer won the first 11-9, but Sijsling took the second one 10-6, after some fantastic rallies.

Both players showed skills, and Federer amazed the crowd with a volley behind his back and a sliced backhand passing Sijsling at the net. But Sijsling also came up with some great shots and showed that he is a promising player. A big cheer sounded as Federer praised Dutch tennis. "There are some young, talented players, even though the media likes to think otherwise", Federer said after the battle.

Federer is going to be in a more serious battle tomorrow, when he faces Jarkko Nieminen in the quarterfinal. It is confirmed that he plays at 19.30.
