Jesse Huta Galung in and Robin Soderling out of the 39th ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament
Jesse Huta Galung is the third Dutch player, together with Robin Haase and Thiemo de Bakker, to participate in the 39th ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament. Jesse Huta Galung is the second player receiving a wildcard for the tournament which is held from 13 until 19th of February 2012 in Ahoy Rotterdam. Robin Söderling pulled out due to illness.
Jesse Huta Galung enters the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament for the third time. In 2009 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga proved to strong in the First round, last year he lost to Jürgen Melzer. Tournament Director Richard Krajicek: “We prefer to have as many Dutch players as possible in the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament. Jesse Huta Galung qualifying for the Australian Open made me reach the decision to give him this wildcard.”
Thiemo de Bakker earned a wildcard for the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament with his results at the Dutch Masters. One wildcard is still available.
Robin Söderling has indicated that his illness prevents him from playing in Rotterdam. Richard Krajicek: “This isn’t a total surprise, as Robin has been unable to play for a couple of months. The outlook seemed positive up until today, but unfortunately he will not be able to defend his title.”
Italian Flavio Cipolla will be replacing Söderling and will make his debut in the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament.
